Deer bundle license makes it easier

Are you planning on taking more than one deer this hunting season? Are you looking for more hunting flexibility? The deer bundle license may be for you. It allows the harvest of 3 antlerless or 1 antlered and 2 antlerless deer in any order. The bundle can be used throughout all 2013 deer seasons (with the exception of the urban deer zone). Find out more [ http://www.in.gov/dnr/fishwild/7389.htm#tabs-6 ]

Sportsman's Benevolence Fund needs your help

The Sportsman's Benevolence Fund is helping put food on the tables of hungry Hoosiers. The SBF provides financial support to various organizations that covers the cost of processing deer that is then distributed to food banks across the state. Hunters willing to help with this program can bring field-dressed deer to a participating deer processor. There is no cost to the hunter, and the venison provides a nutritious meal for those in need. Here's a list of processors by county [ http://church.webatu.com/hfh/butchersearch/butchersearch.php ].

Potato Creek Canada goose hunt dates announced

Potato Creek State Park [ http://www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/2972.htm ] will conduct limited Canada goose reduction hunts on Nov. 9-10 and Dec. 14-15.

The purpose is to manage the growing population of Canada geese, which threatens the park's ecosystem and, potentially, the safety of park patrons.

The park will remain open during the hunts; however, Worster Lake and other aquatic areas will be closed.

Hunters wishing to participate must have a current Indiana hunting license; an Indiana waterfowl stamp; a HIP registration number; a current and signed federal duck stamp to take Canada geese; and be at least 18 years old by Oct. 19.
