Earth Day at Howell Wetlands

Go green in one of Evansville's most biodiverse urban green spaces!

Wesselman Nature Society hosts Earth Day at Howell Wetlands, a free event for local families and visitors to our area.

Scheduled activities at the Wesselman Nature Society Conservation Station will include a birding hike and a live raptor program featuring several birds of prey. Naturalist led hikes, including a wildflower hike and wetland conservation tours, begin at the top of each hour.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., activities and learning opportunities will included water bug fishing in the wetlands, Earth Day crafts and games, “green living” stations, and child friendly activities. Food will be available for purchase as a local boy scout troop fundraiser.

The day's schedule is as follows:

8 a.m. and 9 a.m.- Wing Watching

11 a.m.-Flutterby Flower Walk

12 p.m.-Raptor Show

1 p.m.-Wetland Tour

Located west of downtown Evansville on Tekoppel Ave. at Broadway Ave., Howell Wetlands is Indiana’s largest urban wetlands.
