Pigeon Creek Greenway Passage
Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel announced the construction of an additional 1.25 miles for the Pigeon Creek Greenway Passage. A total of five projects totaling $3.578 milliion - $3 million from Federal and State Grants and $578,000 in local funds. Three trail projects will start at the Uhlhorn Trailhead and follow the Pigeon Creek Levee to Kratzville Road and end near Cody Street. A combination of a State Trails Grant, Transportation System Community Program Grant, Transportation Enhancement Grants, a $170,000 donation from Mead Johnson Nutritionals and local funds will extend the Greenway Passage. The other two projects will be the renovation of the Marchand Bridge into an overlook on the Ohio River and the Shirley James Historical Interpretive Site (click on this link).
